Benefits of Our ID Tags

The Safe Paws Pet Finder ID tag links to a digital profile with all the essential information needed to locate your lost pet. The ID tags are an intelligent identification solution for pets, linking them to a detailed online profile via a scannable QR code. This profile displays the owner’s contact information to the finder, allowing for instant notification of the pet’s location. A GPS receiver in your phone listens for signals from the satellites circling earth. Once the receiver calculates its distance from four or more GPS satellites, it can figure out where your pet is. The finder can simply then click ‘share my location’ and you will receive a notification. Just by scanning the QR code, the finder can access you contact cell phone details along with your registered vet clinic, and any health issues important for the finder to be aware of.

Quickly identifying the owner causes minimal stress for your pet and of course you. The longer your pet is lost, the higher chance they have of being hit by a vehicle, attacked by street dogs or falling into the wrong hands resulting in ‘stolen by finding’. Many dogs found on the road lost may be handed in to places like JSPCA. They then have to go through the process of finding its owners but until then, your dog may be in a crate amongst other crated dogs in a loud, unfamiliar environment.

While microchips are important and we encourage them, usually only vets carry the right tools to scan them (RFID scanners). Pet Finder ID tags allow anyone with a smart phone to access your pets owners contact information.
